Now I’m a tortoise.

194.5.

ONE NINETY FOUR POINT FIVE.

I’m seeing progress, people. Slow, steady progress.

But I’m only seeing that progress on the scale, really. My body? Still looks mostly the same.

Except my size 16 skinny jeans get too big too fast.

The jeans have stretch in them. And stretch? Stretches out. So then they are falling off my bootycakes all day and pulling my panties down with them. Because most of my panties? Are a size larger than I actually need thanks to the fact that I’ve only bought bras and panties once since I stopped being pregnant two years ago. THAT whole panties-falling-down-all-day thing is FUN, y’all. Let me tell you.

(By “fun” I mean totally not.)

But anyway. That’s a complete digression from the point.

(It's like a bookmark, but...not.)

Last week was a personal trainer week. That was a hard, thorough workout. I wanted to cancel but I’m glad I didn’t.

I also made a concerted effort to drink more water and less Diet Pepsi.

I didn’t do that great at sticking to healthy eating, especially when my period started out of the blue on Friday. I kind of spent the weekend eating my feelings.

And then there was that whole vanilla ice cream with Nerds thing I had have going.

This week? Is a new week and a little bit of progress goes a long way toward keeping me motivated.

This week my plan is to try and make it to the gym three times instead of only one. And I also plan to work out with weights more now that I’m feeling way better about the types of exercises I can do on my own.

I’d also like to say I won’t eat my feelings. But we know how tasty that vanilla ice cream and Nerds combo can be.

Mmm. Tasty goodness.

“Slow & steady” is SO much better than “not at all.”

Agreed. Even it it’s a pound a week, that’s still a pound, you know?

I love the “it’s a new week” statement – after a week in which you didn’t follow your goals 100% and yet still lost.

The pants/underpants thing is a stickler for me. I’ve lost a full pants size (used to be a 38″ waist, now I fit quite comfortably in a 36″, and I could probably get myself into a 34″ if I had to, though I highly doubt ever running across an armed gunman saying “the kitten gets it if you don’t wear this pair of pants”), and my underwear is old – collected over the years. Some of it is from when I was a bit skinnier but has been stretched out. Some of it fit perfectly when I was heavier.

This is all a way to say that, unless I’m wearing a belt (never happens when I’m looking to be comfortable), my pants are likely to fall down at a moment’s notice, often taking my underclothes with them. It’s only happened once in the grocery store, so far…

Now, to find ice cream with nerds….I’ll be back.

Mmm. Ice cream with Nerds. So delicious.

And underwear are hard to throw out. As soon as they get comfortable, it’s time to get rid of them. And they’re finally comfortable. :/
