Lots of words Wednesday–Reading is awesome

Joshua loves books. And I love that he loves book.  So, I read to my son.

And sometimes he “reads” to us by pointing to pictures he knows and telling us what they are.  See?

As a teacher, I could not be more pleased with this.  The single-most important factor in academic success is reading to kids.  Children who are read to are more prepared for school and do better in school than their non-read-to counterparts.  

As his mother? I’m so, so proud of how much he knows and how much he’s grown this year.  I love this kid.
