FAB FRIDAY! WOOT!

I need to make one of those cute little banner things that advertises Fab Friday.  I think.  Or maybe I don’t.  What do y’all think?

Anyway,

It’s Friday.

Thursday was awesome.  Today is going to be awesome.  I can feel it already.

First, there was coffee this morning.  Second, Joshua was content to chat with Curious George while we got ready for work.  Third, even though I got out of bed ten minutes late, I somehow managed to compensate for the time I lost and ended up only being three minutes late leaving the house.  And I had to get a sidedish ready for our departmental potluck today.

Then I got to work and my first period students made me a poster declaring their love and devotion and grammar to me.  And they bought me a coffee maker for my classroom.  And got me the most beautiful mug I’ve ever seen.  And a Starbucks gift card.  And they aren’t expecting A’s.  I LOVE THEM.

So, my Friday is already pretty fab.  But, here’s what I’m doing to make it better:

1.  We’re celebrating the culmination of our unit on The Great Gatsby.  The students are dressing up in authentic 1920’s attire and bringing in foods from the 1920’s.  We’re having our own little party and I love it.

2.  I’m going to a retirement party for a co-worker tonight.  Our band director is retiring.  He was one of the first coworkers to become a friend once I started working here because of my involvement with Color Guard and marching band.  He took me under his wing and helped ground me in the building.  It was nice to have someone to talk to before I really knew the women in my department.

3.  Hmm….#3?  I don’t know yet.  Today has already been so awesome I don’t know if I want to try and over-do it.  We’ll see how the day goes.

What are YOU doing to make your Friday Fab?  (Also, you can feel free to join in on your own blog and link back to this!  I don’t mind.  Promise! 🙂  )

I just ate a fabulous chipotle lunch, and have relaxed dinner plans with a nice couple to try a new (to me) kind of food. And I get to stay up late and sleep in. YAY!
