Happy Father’s Day

Dear Dan,

Today is the day to celebrate you as a father and somehow I was the one to sleep in. Which is a tribute to your caring nature as much as it is to my inability to function first thing in the morning.

Thank you for loving me not only as your wife but also as his mother and for supporting me in both of those capacities. I hope you know I love and support you, too.

Thank you for being patient with me when I’m cranky. And thank you for being patient with Joshua. He gets his impatience and crankiness from me.

Thank you for loving us and for wanting us to be happy, sometimes at the expense of your own happiness.

Thank you for being the best father Joshua could ever have.
