We are still alive.

June 26, 2010 by Miranda Leave a Comment

Yesterday was a close call.  We got a little cranky yesterday afternoon. Not entirely sure why.

Oh yeah.

JOSHUA WOULDN’T TAKE A NAP.

He woke up at 8:00 yesterday and didn’t go to sleep until 2:30. OMG. He was mostly happy, so there’s that.

(It's like a bookmark, but...not.)

There is nothing quite like Joshua deciding not to eat or sleep that can make me that cranky.  It stresses me out.  I think I’ve done too much reading about how important sleep is for development so when he doesn’t get enough sleep, I go into hyper-worry mode.  (However, there’s nothing wrong with being an informed parent. And I’d rather be informed and stress than not informed and stress-free.  When it comes to my child, ignorance isn’t bliss.)

But he finally did nap and I did more laundry and we cleaned up our bedroom and the day ended nicely with a #wineparty.  (Twitter–Friday nights @ 9:00. Be there or be…uh…not there…)

On the agenda for today: Lunch with Dan’s dad and a trip to my favorite independent book store to celebrate their 3rd anniversary. But Dan doesn’t know that we’re going by the bookstore. But the lunch place is in the same shopping center, so how I can I NOT stop by!?!?  Even if it’s just to smell the books.

There might also be a playdate for Joshua in the works. And there will be pictures of him and his girlfriend Katelyn.  But first I need to find my camera and charge the battery.  A camera always helps if one plans to take pictures.
