What a difference a year makes!

November 26, 2009 by Miranda Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving last year:

Yes, that’s me.  Looking like a hot mess after cleaning for two days prior to the glorious day of gluttony and cooking all morning long.  You’d have shiny cheeks, too.  And yes, I mean the ones on my face.

Thanksgiving this year:

(Sorry for the picture quality.  I’d like a new camera for Christmas, Santa.)
This year I had my own little turkey to take care of!  He was a good boy even though he’s been kind of reluctant to nap for the past couple of days.  I’m not loving that.  We got a pretty decent nap out of him this morning and then we got about a 25 minute nap out of him this afternoon.  He wasn’t too terribly cranky though.  Both his Harmy and his Nana were here to keep him occupied.  And GrandBob and Pepaw played in the floor with him.
He tried plain mashed potatoes (no butter, no milk, hardly any salt…) and I don’t think he was too impressed.  I probably should’ve given him some gravy.  I’m sure he would’ve been all over that!  But, he sat at the table with us while everyone else ate and he seemed to be pretty entertained.
Today, I’m thankful for a loving husband and a beautiful, healthy son.  I don’t know what I’d do without either of them in my life.
