Is a little predictability too much to ask for?

June 9, 2009 by Miranda Leave a Comment

Apparently, it is. Or, I’m “looking a gift horse in the mouth” about the little bit of predictability I actually DO have in my day. ::sigh::

I know I can count on Joshua to go back to sleep in the a.m. for anywhere from one to three hours. That has been consistent since he moved his four hour sleep stretch to the evening. What we’re working on now is the day time nap.

Since that overtiredness from last week, I’ve been working on just getting him to take a nap. Anywhere was fine from Friday until yesterday. Yesterday, though, I managed to put him on the couch and he slept for over an hour. That was beautiful.

Today, I haven’t been able to get him to stay asleep for longer than 20 minutes whether I’m holding him or not. It is torture! I’ve tried rocking, bouncing, nursing, a combination of the three, walking, nothing. He will NOT stay asleep and he is SOOOO tired!

The worst thing that God ever did to us as humans was send us to this planet unable to figure out how to fall asleep on our own when we’re tired. I love God, don’t get me wrong. But this is some sick joke.
