So Joshua isn’t a very good daytime napper. He didn’t sleep very well last night, and almost never sleeps for much longer than four hours at a stretch, which I know is “normal” but once he gets the first four hour stretch, he only goes for one or two more hours after he falls back to sleep–unless I hold him.
If I hold him, he will sleep for-eh-ver.
Except for today.
He napped from about 10 to noonish, on me, in the recliner. Then he woke up and I changed the diaper, we played, he ate, and I tried putting him back to sleep for a nap around 1:00 because he was showing signs of being tired. He slept for 45 minutes. When I put him down, BAM! wide open eyes. Until I picked him up. Then they closed.
So it’s completely obvious that he’s tired. His eyes are all red-rimmed and he’s yawning.
I swaddled him at 2:50 and started nursing/rocking him. He would fall almost asleep and then be wide awake and squirming and fighting the swaddle. I tried taking an arm out of the swaddle and he stopped fighting it, but won’t fall asleep and stay asleep.
I had to pee soooo bad. After 25 minutes of rocking him and him fighting sleep and squirming around, I laid him down in the pack n play.
He is babbling away to himself and fussing right now. I feel horrible because I feel like I cannot soothe my child.

OMG! This was me last night. CJ normally does pretty well at night, but last night he would not go back to sleep after his 2am feeding. So, I was up from 1:45-5ish off and on because he was fussing. Ugh!
