TGISaturday???

I love the weekends when Dan can be home with me during the day. It makes taking care of Joshua so much easier to have two sets of hands in the house.

Last night the little guy was up every two hours to eat, until he went to sleep at 6:00 a.m. Dan was a trooper and got up with me almost every time Joshua woke up. We even watched a DVRed episode of 24 at 4:30 this morning!! Then Joshua slept until almost 10:00 and I was able to get a shower and put on makeup!

This day-night reversal thing is a pain in the ass, but people assure me it will get better. I hope they’re right. Until that time, I do have to say that I’m getting pretty freaking awesome at sleeping in two hour stretches and still being able to function. Only a couple of times have I been so woozy upon waking that I’ve almost run into the bedroom doorframe. I’ve also mastered the art of falling asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, and occasionally, I can catch a few Z’s while nursing the babe. (I do not recommend the latter, however, unless you are in a semi-reclined position and therefore in less danger of dropping the baby.)

The idea of being able to sleep for 6 hours straight (I’ll settle for four and a half!) is the equivalent of being told I’ve just won an all expenses paid vacation to a resort on Turks and Caicos. (Okay…maybe not QUITE the same, but via my use of hyperbole, you get the idea, right??)

We had Joshua’s newborn photos taken today. He did NOT want to cooperate until after he’d been sufficiently “tanked up,” and then we had about a 30 minute window before he was wide awake and screaming because he was wide awake when all he really wanted was to be sleeping. Ahh…get it right kid! Sleep at night, be awake and happy during the day…I hope we were able to get a few decent shots. I really want to be able to send out birth announcements before he graduates from high school.

I’ll stop with the rambling for now, but know that I’ve got two posts in the works for y’all that I feel I simply must, in the name of honesty and candor, share with my faithful readers. Hopefully they’ll be up soon.

Hey- I foundyour blog through a link from another "Bump-er."

This post sounds like it could have been written by me in February when my son was born. I know you're tired of hearing this, but I promise you it will get better. For us it happened around seven weeks and 12 pounds.

Since then, Holder has gone to bed between 7 and 8pm every night and sleeps for a minimum of five hours at a stretch. And yes, it will feel like heaven! You'll be like a new person. It's coming, just hang in there!
