MY WATER BROKE!!!!

March 21, 2009 by Miranda 1 Comment

This morning when we woke up DH was like “Let’s get out of the house today. I don’t care what we do, but let’s get out of the house. Sitting around waiting is making you miserable. Let’s just GO somewhere.”

So we did.

We went to eat fish and chips at a local place that flies in their seafood and I had a DELICIOUS hunk of a chocolate mousse cake cheesecake thing. Seriously. It was enormous.

Then, we went to Ikea to return some picture frames and walk around and we met some friends down there. They brought their little boy since we haven’t seen him since Christmas and we were joking all day like “Collin, tell Boy Human how nice it is on the outside and what kinds of fun stuff you can do out here!”

Since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to make a day of it and we went over to Atlantic Station (love that place!) and walked around and visited shops and such. We decided to eat California Pizza Kitchen for dinner and there was about a 45 minute wait. We had nothing else to do, so we waited.

While we were waiting, I felt something, uh, different? going on in my pants and I went to the bathroom. When I got there, I peed a little (because I can always pee now) and when I wiped, it was sort of slimy, so I thought “Oh great…the remnants of this freaking mucous plug…” and went on back outside to wait.

While we were eating, Collin (5 months old!) started getting fussy because he had had a really long day and only a couple of cat naps. His mom and dad took turns walking him around the block and I told Dan I was going to hurry up and eat and then go walk him so I did.

(It's like a bookmark, but...not.)

I got around the block once and I was like ” 0_o???” It felt like there was a wet spot on my shorts. Thank God Collin’s stroller was in the way!

I called DH and told him I needed him to come out and walk Collin around the block for me because I needed to pee and K & J needed to finish eating. Before I went back inside I said to him “I think we’ll need to leave soon.” And he said “Are we going to the hospital??” And I sort of nodded and power-walked my way into the restaurant.

When I went to the bathroom, there was indeed a wet spot on my shorts and thank God I wore a pad today instead of a pantyliner! The thing was mostly soaked.

This is definitely my water and not just me peeing myself. And this is NOT just more mucous.

I still feel it leaking whenever I stand up.

HOLY SHIT I’M GONNA HAVE A BABY!!!!

We flew home (thanks to K & J for picking up the tab!) and DH is now on his way to the dog boarding facility, who graciously agreed to wait until 9:15 for us to get there, to take Annie for a stay. When he gets back, we’ll head to the hospital.
