Stick Figure Saturday

Ericka at the Alabaster Cow has this thing called “Stick Figure Saturday.” It even has its own button.  It’s a legit meme, y’all.  See:

My day yesterday?  Well.  Let’s just say I was losing my mind.  I decided to draw pretty* stick figures to show you my day.  (*beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, folks.)

This is us at 7:00 a.m.  Joshua woke up at 5:45 and decided the crib was eating him alive. So he came to bed with me. Which means he slept and I didn’t. Because he likes to kick me in the sides.  I love snuggling and napping with my baby. Most of the time.

So we got up. There was no coffee.  Bubbles were the only thing that kept him from melting down like Chernobyl. (Or exploding? Did Chernobyl explode??)

Then he did meltdown. It was awesome. There was no coffee.

Ahhhhh.  The nap.  45 minutes of which was in the crib. 2.5 hours of which was in the bed with me. But this was one of those times when I wanted to snuggle him so it was all gravy.

IMMEDIATELY upon waking up from the nap? Meltdown resumed. There was still no coffee.  And the bubbles were all broken.  (Seriously, can someone please tell me why Miracle Bubbles SUCK EGGS and where I can get some NON-SUCKING bubbles?!?!)

Then, for whatever reason (probably Yo Gabba Gabba) there was random happiness.  Woohoo!!  No, there was no coffee. But there was no screaming. So that’s why Stick-Figure Me has a half smile. It was pleasant.

Then bedtime rolled around.  Do you see what I see?  Yes. That’s a non-sleeping, not-even-remotely-sleeping Stick Figure Joshua.  And an empty wine glass for the Stick Figure Me.

This proceeded for two hours.  The child was up for TWO HOURS past his bed time, playing, meltdown-ing, playing, screaming from the Baby Eating Crib, eating one sliver of a grilled cheese sandwich, playing, and then, finally, at 9:15, falling asleep.

The End.
