Blackbird Fly

Sharing is caring!

Yesterday was the first day of sunshine we’ve had in what feels like a decade. There’s been gray skies, the winter yucks, a ton of rain, and more gray skies. The Cullens could sparkle here.

Joshua came running into me as he saw the sun streaming through the windows, practically begging to go outside. Even though I was running on about 4 hours of sleep, I would have been a completely horrible mother had I said no. Because when your kid is begging for a Vitamin D hit after being cooped up inside for so long, you should maybe give it to him. So I didn’t say no.

When he woke up from his nap, as grumpy as I was, we hit the playground. And I brought along the 50mm lens Dan bought me for Christmas.

We were only able to stay for about an hour before the sun started falling behind the trees, taking the temperature with it. But that was enough. He got his fill of play and my Mama Heart got its fill of watching him run.

This kid always knows what my Mama Heart needs.

It is hard, especially with the baby in tow. I don't want it to be too cold for her and it limits how I can play with him. But sometimes, ya just gotta go. So we do.
