Ahhh, Buffy. You complete me.

October 1, 2010 by Miranda Leave a Comment

I do love me some Buffy, y’all.  Mostly I love Angel.  (Or Angelus.  Whatever.)

I could go on and on about how the the show was a masterpiece in terms of quality television.  How Joss Whedon literally BROUGHT IT every single season. How he wasn’t afraid to shake things up.

How the end of the series was kind of awesome (minus the whole Anya thing–totally unnecessary, Joss. Totally.) What with hundreds of Slayers all called to action and Buffy being all “peace out, yo. I’m going shopping.”  And Spike giving his immortality (sort of) to save them all.

But that’s not really the point of this post.

The real point of this post is that whole Hellmouth thing.

You know, the Hellmouth that was under the library of Sunnydale High.

(People.  Libraries are not mystical portals to the mouths of Hell.  Go read books. They are good for you.)

Anyway, instead of a Hellmouth, October is a HellMONTH for me.

Seriously.

It is.

Tonight is the Homecoming parade and game.  And today I took up three classes worth of essays.

Tomorrow morning is a Guard clinic.  Tomorrow night we’re supposed to have a dinner for Dan’s work but I haven’t lined up a sitter because I have a million things going on.

Next week is the week before our first competition, so we have an extra practice. And there’s an exhibition on Tuesday night.

Next week is also basketball cheer tryouts. And the week after that, there’s another competition.  And the weekend after that is my 10 year reunion and the weekend after that is the GA-FL game and Halloween.

(It's like a bookmark, but...not.)

Um, y’all?  I don’t know when I’m going to be breathing next month.

Yes, I realize that looks like there’s plenty of “free time” there, but let’s remember that I work all day, okay?

From 7:45 to 4:00, at the earliest, I’m at work.  There will be at least one rotation of lunch duty in there, which means I’ll lose half of my planning time that week.  There will be parent conferences.  There will perhaps be department meetings.

Joshua will have meltdowns. I will have meltdowns.

Methinks this month won’t be pretty.

So??  Guess what I did?

I lined up some awesome guest bloggers for my “Welcome to the Hellmonth” month.

They are my Xanders and Willows and Cordelias and Dawns and Taras and Faiths and Spikes Wesleys and Giles(es) and that werewolf-rocker guy played by Seth Green whose name I cannot remember and am too lazy to Google.

(I mean, of COURSE I’m Buffy.  Of course I am.)

And I can’t wait to share them with you.

I’ve got a few giveaways I think you’re going to love. (I mean, what’s not to love about edibles and jewelry, right?)

I’m going to blog when I can, where I can and hope that y’all don’t run away in the meantime.

Don’t run away in the meantime, okay? Please? There might be cookies or candy corn involved if you stay.

No, seriously. One of the giveaways involves cookies.  Or brownies. But not “magic” brownies.
