State of the Weight Wednesday: Travel Troubles

Welcome back to another week of State of the Weight Wednesday!

SOTWW is about more than just the numbers on the scale. It’s about making small changes you can live with.

Now let’s get to it!

State of the Weight Wednesday, Finding Walden

Okay, today’s SOTWW is going to be short and sweet because there’s nothing really to report. And I really need to talk about something that lots of people might find…gross and I don’t want to keep you around too long for that. Sorry in advance. Mostly.

What’s that thing I need to talk about, you ask?

Travel colon.

Do you know this phenomenon of which I write? Because I know it all too well.

I’m a, eh, regular sort of person. Until I travel. And when I travel my insides get all awkward and shy and I get all bloated and uncomfortable. And to combat this problem, I eat. And eat. And eat. Anything and everything. Like my body is trying to make something happen if only I just eat enough.

Guys. Family reunion = so much food. So, so much food. And then all the eating from the inability to do my business and I’m up nearly 2 pounds this week because of bloating and eating and not drinking water.

The water in S. GA is kind of gross if you’re not used to it. Every time we turned on the faucet to brush his teeth, Joshua said “Oh, Mama! Something smells like poop!” (It’s just the water there. Sulfur, I think? Gross to drink.) I should’ve bought a case of water and taken it with me so that I had it to drink, but I didn’t. And I didn’t really think about it once I was there. I just…drank coffee. And hoped.

So. Yep. Up 2 pounds but already back on the way to normal. Thank you all the coffee and water.

I’m so, so glad that life is settling down so I can really focus on meeting my first goal. I feel like I’ve been treading water since vacation in July. And then Daddy’s death and now this past weekend. It’s really hard to stay on your game when you’re out of your element, you know?

I mean, maybe it shouldn’t be hard. Maybe it should be easier to say “Nope, can’t eat that.” And maybe it should be easier to find time to exercise. But it isn’t. Or it wasn’t.

But my schedule is clear between now and Type A at the end of this month. I want to meet my 31 for 31 goal by Sept. 27th. That’s only 7 lbs between now and then. (And maybe tone my arms a little??) (Also, it’s already September, you guys. HOW?)

I can do this.

Personal Goal: Water. So much water. And 5 days of exercise, either yoga, cardio, or weights.
Weight Goal: 31 pounds total by Sept. 27th; 7 pounds to go!

Yep, it is a real problem. Funny how a day after you get home and back to normal you can feel your bloat and other issues just go away. You are doing great! Keep it up.....

Yes, I choose to comment when you talk poop. Lol. I have this same issue every time we travel. EVERY TIME. it's so annoying. Why do our bodies know we aren't home?!
