Fun In The Sun With AppleCheeks Swim Diapers

So, yesterday we started a little giveaway for DO Naturals sunscreen. (Go enter that if you haven’t already!)

Today we’re going to compliment that with a little AppleCheeks swim diaper fun courtesy of my friend Irene at Happy Cotton Tails!

AppleCheeks swim diaper review, Finding Walden

It’s no secret I love my AppleCheeks cloth diapers. I love them like whoa. So then it should be no surprise how very much I love my AppleCheeks swim diaper in Pickled Pink.

And if it is a surprise to you, well, then that’s a surprise to me.

When we joined the gym in April, I knew that would mean swimming. I also know that leaving Baby Ruths in swimming pools is highly frowned upon.

I had some disposable swim diapers in my closet left over from Joshua’s diaper-wearing days, but I kind of hated the idea of using those when I knew there were reusable options out there. I picked up a reusable diaper from Target and then heard horror stories from other moms about that same diaper.

What was happening to those moms at the pool wasn’t pretty. Pardon the disgusting nature of this next paragraph.

Their tots liked to wait until pool time to do their business. And those other diapers didn’t have snaps. Which meant sliding a diaper full of (wet) poop DOWN THE KID’S LEGS. Sure, sure, everybody poops. But that doesn’t mean I want a clean-up requiring a Haz-Mat suit just because we went to the pool, you know? So then I was really scared of my swim diaper.

My friend Irene at Happy Cotton Tails reached out asking if she could send me an AppleCheeks swim diaper so that I could hopefully avoid such a gross fate. Emma seems to have a shy colon around water, but should she ever decide to drop a deuce, I’m ready. (Also, I realize that now I’ve just asked the Universe to break our streak. Bring it!)

AppleCheeks swim diaper review, Finding Walden

My Pickled Pink AppleCheeks diaper arrived in the mail and we hit the pool for family swim the next day. And the next. And the day after that. And we hit the lake. And the ocean. And the splash pad.

After three months of averaging three times a week of being used, rinsed, washed, and sometimes dried in the dryer, this diaper looks as great and brand new as the day I opened the envelope in which it arrived. There’s no fraying or fading and the elastics and snaps are all perfect which is a testament to the quality of AppleCheeks products.

The thing I love most about this diaper is that it will still fit her next summer. And if she’s not potty trained yet, the summer after that as well.

Under $20 for a diaper that could last three years or more or roughly $1/diaper for disposables that will spend an eternity in a landfill?

That’s kind of a no-brainer, right? Such a small investment that goes such a long way.

Happy Cotton Tails is giving all Finding Walden readers 15% off their purchase (some exclusions do apply) with the code FindingWalden.

They carry a full line of cloth diapers in several brands, as well as the necessaries for their use, a full line of butt butters and balms, different ways to babywear, and (!!!!) Piggy Paint. (OMG. Painted baby toenails are adorable!)

But one of my lucky readers is going to win an AppleCheeks swim diaper in the color of their choice! Yay!

One (US) winner for each giveaway will be chosen through Rafflecopter when this giveaway and the DO Naturals giveaway close on 8/23. That means two winners. Unless you’re just lucky enough to win both. In which case, buy a lottery ticket!

You know the Rafflecopter drill! May the odds be ever in your favor!

Happy Cotton Tails sent me 1 AppleCheeks swim diaper. They did not send me an opinion. That’s all mine, y’all.
